The three main prehistoric sites of the Brú na Bóinne Complex, Newgrange,
Knowth and Dowth, are situated on the north bank of the River Boyne 50 km north
of Dublin. This is Europe's largest and most important concentration of
prehistoric megalithic art. The monuments there had social, economic, religious
and funerary functions.
- Eire 1983. Europa stamp. Neolithic pattern in the Newgrange burial place,
depicting Winter Solstice. The find dates from 3.000 BC.
- Eire 1996. The excavations in Brú na Bóinne (Bend of the Boyne).
- St. Vincent of the Grenadines 1996. 50th Anniversary of the UNESCO.
