Pharmacy Envelopes
Pharmacy envelopes are collected by many people in Denmark. They are issued by the pharmacies for the purpose of keeping your prescription protected from dust and dirt, and there exists thousands of varieties from Danish pharmacies. Collector clubs have been established. The two envelopes shown on this page are issued by Bolbro Apotek in Odense during the 1990s, and show paper cuts by H.C. Andersen. The original cuts belong to the Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense. Bolbro is a western suburb of Odense.

A visitor to this page, Mr. Rob McGuinness (Canada), who has visited Denmark for the Hafnia Exhibition '76, and who has a large collection of Andersen-items and Andersen-memorabilia, has kindly offered the below images to be shown on this page, making the set of six pharmacy envelopes complete. Thanks Rob :-)
In addition to this I know that the Danish artist Henry Heerup, who has also designed various Danish stamps, has designed a pharmacy cover for Vanløse Apotek (in the vicinity of Copenhagen), illustrating the fairy tale "The Garden of Paradise". I have been unable to find any images of this cover.
