In spite of Van Gogh's manic depressive mind so much reflected in his self portraits, and his outspoken wish to paint ordinary workers "down to earth" as he saw them, he also had his bright moments which largely show in his poetic flower paintings.

Most of Van Gogh's self portraits and flower paintings have been issued by a huge number of countries, mostly showing always "the same painting". For this page I have made a point of showing as many different ones as I could find world wide of his most expressive self portraits and most delicate flower paintings.
